"The more nations I see, the more alive I feel."
This philosophy shapes Jan's approach. As an experienced business traveler, he seizes every opportunity to journey abroad. He loves immersing himself in new cultures and traditions. With so many places to see and people to meet, time flies by too quickly.
2024 Texas, USA
Texas was JP's third academic exposure abroad, significantly shaping his professionalism and expanding his financial knowledge. He chose to study at UT Austin specifically for its academic excellence in economics and business, including the nation's top-ranked Accounting program. He attended classes such as Valuation, Risk Management, Financial Accounting, Personal Finance, and Real Estate. Additionally, he was actively involved in the Real Estate Center and University Finance Association. JP also contributed to his real estate team's success, securing second place in a case competition.
Austin provided numerous networking opportunities, allowing him to meet prominent figures such as Jay Hartzell (UT Austin President), Christoph Schweizer (CEO of BCG), Tony Rogers (Former CMO of Walmart), Kathy Terry (Co-Founder of P. Terry's), and even Czech President Petr Pavel. This experience in the US provided JP with a solid foundation to embark on his financial career path.
2024 Bahamas
During JP's internship with Remora Consulting LLC in Austin, which specializes in federal compliance issues related to real estate development projects, he had the opportunity to visit a family housing site project in the Bahamas. There, he assisted in renegotiating terms with a local builder and assessing financial planning. This was his second official international business trip, where he had to uphold project objectives and communicate effectively.

Alaska was JP's first paid work experience abroad. Through the W&T program, he started as a busser but quickly advanced to a server position in a fine dining restaurant, turning the trip into a profitable experience despite the challenging conditions. He learned the value of hard work by juggling two jobs: serving breakfast at King Salmon and dinner at Crow's Nest. During his stay, JP enhanced his verbal and soft skills. He also had the opportunity to visit Utqiaġvik (formerly Barrow), the northernmost point of the United States, where he met the Iñupiat tribe. Their teachings about respect for nature and responsibilities toward one's community left a lasting impression on him.
2022 Latin America
Chile was JP's second academic tenure, where he fully realized the world's diversity and the beauty of humanity. During his time in Chile, the nation was transitioning to full democracy, experiencing dynamic events such as constitutional amendments and protests. This taught JP a great deal about mutual respect. He also gained his first experience in finance and negotiation under the mentorship of Harvard professor Bruce Allyn, a key negotiator in impactful historical events like the Cuban Missile Crisis and Cold War espionage.
At Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, one of the top universities in South America and the number one in Chile, JP attended classes such as Essential Business Analytics, Topics in International Finance, Negotiation, and Global Strategy. Additionally, JP had the opportunity to travel to six different countries within South America, providing him with a unique perspective on the world.
